Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, has disclosed key details regarding the Dubai Loop project\u2014an advanced transportation initiative set to be developed in collaboration with Elon Musk\u2019s The Boring Company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The announcement was made during Musk\u2019s session at the World Governments Summit 2025 on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A few hours after the session, Sheikh Hamdan shared further insights about the underground transportation network on Musk\u2019s social media platform, X. Musk described the project as resembling a \u201cwormhole,\u201d emphasizing its futuristic approach to urban mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sheikh Hamdan highlighted that the Dubai Loop is poised to transform transportation, reinforcing the city\u2019s position as a global leader in innovative mobility solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the sidelines of the summit, Dubai\u2019s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) formalized a partnership with The Boring Company by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Sheikh Hamdan stated that this agreement will facilitate the exploration and development of the 17-kilometre transportation project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of the announcement, Sheikh Hamdan confirmed that the project will feature 11 stations, designed to accommodate over 20,000 passengers per hour. This initiative aligns with Dubai\u2019s vision of enhancing urban connectivity and providing cutting-edge mobility solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that the Dubai Loop project underscores the city\u2019s dedication to pioneering innovative transportation methods. He further noted that Dubai\u2019s drive for innovation is powered by strong collaborations with global industry leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
