Dubai Science Park Announces Expansion to Support Growing R&D Demand
Dubai Science Park, the region’s leading scientific free zone, is undergoing a significant expansion project that will increase its storage and logistics capacity by 147%. This strategic initiative was announced at the recent BIO International Convention in California and addresses the rising global demand for high-quality (Grade-A) facilities in the research and development (R&D) sector.
Enhancing Regional Innovation Ecosystem
The expansion, encompassing an additional 200,000 square feet of storage and logistics space, will empower Dubai Science Park’s existing base of over 500 companies to accelerate regional R&D efforts. The park is already home to renowned industry leaders such as AstraZeneca, Pfizer, BeiGene, and GE Healthcare.
“To unlock the full potential of the regional scientific industry, we must proactively address the needs of the research community driving innovation for our collective future,” stated Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, Senior Vice President of Dubai Science Park at TECOM Group PJSC.
This expansion aligns perfectly with Dubai’s strategic vision, including the Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33,’ the Dubai Research and Development Program, and the We The UAE 2031 strategies. It underscores Dubai’s commitment to fostering a world-class environment that fuels scientific progress.
Increased Leasable Storage Capacity
Scheduled for completion in 2025, the project will bring Dubai Science Park’s total gross leasable storage area to 336,000 square feet. This expansion strengthens the park’s position as a premier hub for leading companies like Epygen Labs, Elixir Pharma, and Al Wakeel Recycling.
