His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, has greenlit a series of ambitious housing projects valued at AED 5.4 billion. These initiatives aim to enhance living standards for Emirati citizens across various regions in Dubai.
The development plan includes the construction of 3,004 new residential units. Among these, 1,181 homes will be built in Latifa City under the housing loan programme. Additional housing projects will see 606 homes in Al Yalayis 5, 432 in Wadi Al Amardi, 398 in Al Awir 1, 200 in Hatta’s Makan area, 120 in Oud Al Muteena, and 67 in Dubai’s rural and countryside areas, catering to beneficiaries under the housing grant scheme.
The projects are closely tied to the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme, spearheaded by Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid. This programme prioritises family stability, community cohesion, and an enhanced quality of life, fostering a balanced social environment for Dubai’s citizens.
Citizen Wellbeing at the Core
Highlighting the government’s commitment to its people, Sheikh Mohammed stated that the welfare of citizens remains the cornerstone of Dubai’s development initiatives. “Housing programmes for citizens are a top priority,” he noted. “We are devoted to ensuring the highest living standards for our people, creating stable family environments, and contributing to community wellbeing. Citizens form the backbone of our success, development, and global reputation.”
He further emphasised that housing initiatives are part of a broader strategy to fulfill national goals, drive prosperity, and build a future that aligns with the aspirations of Emirati citizens.
Ensuring Integrated and Sustainable communities
Omar Hamad Bu Shehab, CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment, described the housing projects as a testament to the leadership’s vision of providing citizens with an exceptional quality of life. “These developments are designed as integrated residential communities that address all needs while prioritising comfort and safety,” he said.
He added that the projects follow advanced urban planning principles and aim to ensure public wellbeing over the next two decades. The initiative is part of the establishment’s efforts to meet the evolving housing demands of Emirati citizens.
Supporting the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan
The housing initiatives align with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, which seeks to address future housing needs through sustainable urban development. By optimising available land and offering diverse housing options, the plan ensures communities are equipped with green spaces, recreational areas, and commercial centres, fostering a high standard of living for all citizens.
