Dubai named one of the best cities to work in

  • May 22, 2024 - 2 min read

our city has been named one of the best global cities to work in, making the top five.

London topped the list for another year (it has retained the top spot since 2014), but Dubai came in at third place and Abu Dhabi in at fourth.

The two UAE cities are the only ones in the Middle East to make the top 10, according to a report by management consultancy Boston Consulting Group.

Other cities in the top 10 list include Berlin, Singapore, Barcelona, Tokyo and Sydney.

But what makes working in Dubai so good?

The report listed the reasons professionals look to move, with “financial and economic reasons”, “career progression” and “better overall quality of life” topping the list, with Dubai arguably offering all of these qualities, depending on your preferences.

When it comes to picking a country to live and work in, having English as the official working language came out as one of the most important considerations, followed by top-tier salary packages, a culture of acceptance and belonging and a smooth relocation process.

In news announced earlier this year, Dubai’s authorities have announced they have cut the time it takes to process a Dubai work visa as part of a new (and faster) initiative.

The process of bringing a new employee to Dubai is being slashed from 30 days to just five. In addition, the number of documents required has also been cut, from 16 to five.
