Dubai is set to enhance its global reputation for innovation and sustainability with the development of Therme Dubai, the world’s tallest wellness resort. This landmark project underscores the emirate’s dedication to urban biodiversity and environmental sustainability while aligning with its broader vision for improving quality of life.

A Visionary Initiative by Dubai’s Leadership

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, has announced plans for this ambitious project. Standing 100 meters high, Therme Dubai will be a significant component of the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033 and is expected to be completed by 2028.

With an investment exceeding $545 million (AED 2 billion), the resort will feature the world’s largest indoor botanical garden and aims to attract approximately 1.7 million visitors annually. The project is strategically located in Zabeel Park, reinforcing Dubai’s commitment to integrating green spaces within urban landscapes.

Commitment to Enhancing Quality of Life

Emphasizing the significance of this initiative, HH Sheikh Hamdan stated, “In May 2024, under the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai embarked on a new chapter to enhance community well-being through the Quality of Life Strategy 2033. As part of this commitment, we introduce Therme Dubai—the world’s tallest wellness resort, designed to redefine the way people experience well-being in the city.”

The Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033

Launched in May 2024, the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033 is a comprehensive initiative aimed at positioning Dubai as the best city to live in. It emphasizes the transformation of Dubai into a pedestrian-friendly, environmentally sustainable, and family-oriented metropolis.

Key elements of the strategy include:

  • 200 new parks across the city
  • 300% expansion of cycling tracks along beaches
  • 60% increase in night swimming beaches
  • A dedicated beach for women

Additionally, the initiative focuses on enhancing Dubai’s outer districts, ensuring all residents benefit from improved infrastructure and accessibility. The plan also prioritizes convenience, with a commitment to providing essential services within a 20-minute reach of every resident.

Through this strategy and the development of Therme Dubai, Dubai continues to shape a future centered on sustainability, well-being, and an elevated quality of life for its people and visitors.
